About Me.

My name is Lauren Flores, and I am a lover of technology, imaginative storytelling, and most of all, I am a passionate advocate for User Experiences (UX) and Research Development.

Long before I had ever heard of UX, I was simply fascinated by technology and the human experience. At an early age, I naturally gravitated towards folk tales, the romanticism of Disney, and using creative imagination to explore new worlds and possibilities. Fastforward years later, I graduated college in 2014 with a degree in Psychology and Law. I chose Cognitive Science as a major because I knew that as an interdisciplinary field, it would allow me to explore the intersection between the human experience and the qualifying nature of dependable research. I ventured into the unknown with hopes of reimagining the world as we knew it.

With over half a decade of progressive experience across a diverse set of research and operational segments, I have cultivated a unique and valuable set of skills through my time working in politics, academia, and the private sector. I developed extraordinary interpersonal skills working political campaings and serving as a legislative aid for a prominent United States Senator in Washington, DC. I developed my analytical and research techniques as a senior research associate working for the University of California, and became an impactful business leader in the community by cultivating and expanding our small lab-based venture into its own department, capable of competing with industry-sized technology companies.

I discovered my passion for the field of UX when I realized great user experiences originate from understanding how users connect with the world around them in measurable and intuitive ways. As a professional, I have tailored my experiences to explore that passion from many different angles. I have integrated aspects from all of my backgrounds to bring an effective and new approach to user experiences, research methods, business development, cognitive and computer sciences, design, statistics, and much more.

I am currently working for DIAGEO in New York City, and am charged with the management and adaptation of company technologies to empower User Experience and Business Engagement. I am also completing my MBA with a concentration in Data and Location Analytics in order to be a more well rounded business development and research professional within the field.

If you are interested in connecting with eachother, I am always looking to talk to new people, hear new ideas and opinions, and expand my network.
